Allen had a pretty good inaugural season as coach of the Tandem Badgers
varsity lacrosse team. They won the Delaney Athletic Conference in not
only his first season but also Tandem’s as a varsity lacrosse program
since the mid 2000’s. Tandem has 5 seniors on a 14 man roster and
Thursday afternoon the seniors delivered 10 of their 11 goals. The
Badgers took out Wakefield Country Day School to win the title. The
seniors are team captain Sam Cole, Nimal Patel, Conor Kennedy (4 goals & 1
assist), Chris Bell (1 goal & 3 assists), Dartmouth soccer signee
Mike Mahoney (4 & 1) , Owen Ware (1 & 2), and Tyler Wolf. Junior
Wilson Ruotolo, a long stick, added a goal on a fast break. Sam Cole
had 7 ground balls, Ware had 8 and Ruotolo had an amazing 18 ground
balls. Coach Allen said that having Sam Cole on the field was like
having a coach on the field who could still play. Freshman goalie Rives
Cowen kept the Owl offense out of the net for virtually all afternoon.
