Louisa survives to fight another day
Louisa Little League Majors All Star team run ruled Monticello to 18-5 to move out of the loser's bracket and into the championship round versus Culpeper Little League. Louisa broke the game open in the 3rd and put it away in the top half of the 5th with a 3 run dinger immediately followed by a solo shot. Monticello scored 1 run in the 5th and had runners on the corners with 2 outs when the batter flied out to centerfield. Since Louisa has 1 loss they must win tonight to force a second championship game on Wednesday. These games do have some history making potential, at least for Culpeper. Based on a very unscientific poll of several managers who have been around the district since the early 90's, Culpeper has never won a District 14 title. Prior to this year Culpeper had 2 divisions, American & National. They have merged them back together and now send 1 All Star team instead of two. Their 10/11 team lost to Monticello last night, 9-5. Monticello's 10/11 team has 1 loss and faces undefeated Louisa in the championship game. Monticello must win to force a second game. Earlier in the tournament Louisa beat Monticello 11-4.
