Masonic Lodge goes worst to first, wins Central LL wire to wire with a perfect 17-0 season
The
last time Masonic Lodge represented Central Little League in the City
Championship was in 2007, a year in which Masonic came away with two
convincing victories and bragging rights as the area’s Little League
champs. Masonic has been rebuilding ever since, and this season, the
team finally arrived. Although Masonic battled and came close to several
wins the second half of last year’s season, the team finished with a
0-18 record. Nine players returned this year, and along with three
newly drafted members of the team, Masonic started this season with high
expectations and a determination to win. Masonic has not disappointed,
going in to its final regular season game with a perfect 17-0 record.
Much
of Masonic’s success this season can be attributed to considerable
strength and depth in the pitching department. To go along with this,
the majority of the team has been playing together for several years.
Each year has brought improvement and an increased sense of
camaraderie. The players trust one another on the field, which has lead
to many exciting defensive plays this season. Masonic is looking
forward to the challenge, and despite the outcome, is pleased to have
finally made its way back to the City Championship.
