STAB JV lacrosse a perfect 17. 17-0
The
Saint-Anne's-Belfield JV Lacrosse Team finished the most successful
season in the history of the program with an undefeated season at 17-0.
The highlights included two wins over Western Albemarle, Woodberry
Forest, St. Christopher’s and Collegiate. The offense averaged over 10
goals a game and allowed less than 4 goals a game with 3 shutouts. The
team was coached by former Varsity Head Coach Doug Tarring and Varsity
Assistant David Riddick. Doug Tarring coached the school's first JV team
in 1973. Throughout the season, players at every position improved
especially the two goalies Coil Bressan and Tim Viere. The attack was
lead by Scott Cathcart, Scottie Bolin, Stewart Staunton, Fritz Berry and
Cazzie Olko. This unit lead the team in scoring. The Midfielders, Nate
Ingram, Derek Kaschak, John Griffin, Nevin Masri, and Lang McNeely were
the offensive leaders. The defensive short sticks of Christian
Pettygrove, Dustin Jones, Harry Frazier and Michael Given dominated the
middle of the field. The defense played shut down all season with long
stick Rob Schotta and poles Clayton Hanson, John Jane, Daniel Genossar,
Nick Hahn, Nathan Silver, Blake Thatcher, John Bower, Alex Dobrowolski
and Sam Bardwell-Evans. A remarkable season for a talented team.
