Warrior Golf captures State AA title!
Western Albemarle Golf won the state AA championship on a gray day at the Shenandoah Valley Club (par 71). The Warrior senior golf tandem of Alex O'Dell and Landon Weis both shot 146 for the 2 day event, with O'Dell firing a 3 under 68 today. That was 2 shots behind the day's low medalist, Sam Stillwell, of Dominion HS, who also won the overall low medalist honors with a total of 142. But this is a team event where 6 play and 4 scores count. After being tied with Cave Spring on Monday, WAHS shot a 306-300 for a total of 306. Cave Spring went 306-306 and a total of 612. The range on the WAHS was 146-162, which does show how deep the Warriors were. Runner-up Cave Spring's range was 143-170. The state champion Warriors team consisted of Alex O'Dell, Landon Weis, Brett Engle, Brett Warnick, Hunter Weis, and Kyle Landis. Jefferson District champion Monticello placed 6th in state.
