Need help navigating YSN?
We have created a section of help topics that will guide you through your YSN experience.
Registering with Youth Sports Now.
Registering with YouthSportsNow.com is the key to getting the most from your experience. Most importantly, it's FREE!!! By registering to YouthSportsNow.com you get access to post classifieds, post to the message board, add videos, add pictures, and create your own Virtual Sports Card!
To register with YSN, you need a valid email address and to be 13 years of age. Each person registering for YSN needs their own valid email address as only one user can be linked to an email address. This is for your security and the security of your youth athletes within the community. It ensures that each user is responsible for their content and conduct while being a member of YSN.
YSN members also have the option of joining the YSN community without having to create a VSC. This is for parents and members of the community who would like to post to our classifieds, comment on the message boards, but not have to create a VSC. Just fill out the sections of the VSC that are required and denoted by the red asterick, and then at the bottom of the registration page is a check box that will let you keep your VSC hidden from other members. This ensures your privacy and safety if you so choose.
Near the upper right hand corner of the YSN home page is the “Register” link. By clicking this link you will be taken to the register page to enter any additional information we require.
On the user account page you are prompted to add a username, an email address, name, and date of birth.
Your YSN username can be anything you like. It will be displayed on the site when you participate in the message boards or with other members.
Each person registering for a YSN account must have their own separate email address. If parents are creating a card for their kids, a separate email address is required if you want to register more than one youth. We suggest creating a Gmail address or something similar that you can both have access to.
Your full name is needed and only shows up in your player profile. First and last names is sufficient. This is also how other members can locate you for networking, viewing your stats, etc.
DATE OF BIRTH
Currently YSN has an age limit of 13 to participate without parent consent. Parents are welcome to set up accounts for kids younger than 13 by registering for the youth with the parents email address.
You can also add your stats and picture top your profile for others to see. These can always be edited later so you are not required to fill out this information now. Whatever questions you answer will appear in your profile and the questions you leave blank will not appear. NOTE: Be sure to click on the leagues link at the bottom of the page. It will open a menu of schools, leagues, camps, and other sports related businesses that you can check if play for them. These will also be posted in your profile and will allow you to get up to date information from your league, school, or sport if they participate with YSN.
All YSN users have the option of keeping their VSC private and viewable only by other members that they have selected to be their friends. This allows users to take part in YSN without having to create a VSC. Simply check the box located near the bottom of the register page in the Virtual Sports Card privacy section. This can be toggled on or off at any time by going to the edit section of your VSC.
Click the create account button and you are now a member of YSN!! YSN will automatically send temporary password information to the email you entered for your account and the instruction to complete your account. Congratulations!

YSN allows you the ability to stay in touch with your friends and teammates by adding them as a friend. To add friends to your Virtual Sports Card, find the Virtual Sports Card of the friend you want to add. You can find all of our members on our Members page accessed from the main menu. Once you find your friend's Virtual Sports Card, right below their picture is a link "Add as friend". Clicking this link will take you to another page confirming your action and allowing you to add a personal message. You can enter a message if you like or simply click the "Send" button.
The person you have "friended" will receive and email asking them to confirm or deny the request. Once they confirm the request they will be added as your friend and will show up under the list of your friends that can be viewed under your own profile. The link to view your friends is under your picture on your own VSC. You can also see what friend requests you have sent out, and what friends are awaiting your approval.
You can also remove friends fro your friend list by going to their VSC and selecting the link below their picture that says "remove as friend". YSN doesn't recommend this as friends are hard to come by.
As you travel around YSN and visit some of our listings you may notice that each listing has a small link locate din it that allows you to bookmark your favorite places or listings that you would like to come back and visit later. Once you bookmark any listings they can be viewed in your VSC by clicking on the link below your picture, "View My Bookmarks". You can then manage your bookmarks from this page.
